Eleanor Miller Hill

Born in Tarboro, March 5, 1928 the daughter of the late Carson Benton Miller and Lucille Bass Miller. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church. Prior to her retirement and return to New Bern in 1980, Ellie worked with the Department Of Defense in Washington D. C. Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Miller Arrington of Oxford, NC; and a brother, Jimmy C. Miller of Henderson.

She is survived by her husband, Charles E. Hill, whom she married on November 19, 1949 and two sons, Charles E. Hill, Jr. and wife Linda of California, MD; David M. Hill and his partner, Dane Ellington of Washington D.C.; her grandchildren, Charles E. Hill III and wife, Becky; Sean Ryan Hill; and two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Wyatt. She is also survived by five brothers, Charles B. Miller of Summerville, SC; Gene Miller and wife, Edna of Kinston, NC; Larry B. Miller and wife Renee of Wilmington, NC; Roger D. Miller and wife Sandra of Williamston, NC; and Jerry M. Miller and wife Victoria of Myrtle Beach, SC.

Services will be held Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Cotten Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.
