Edna McClung

Edna McClung, age 93, of New Bern, North Carolina went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 14, 2022. A loving mother and grandmother, Edna raised six children. She passionately taught countless others as an educator. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and an inductee to the New Mexico Teachers' Association Hall of Fame. Edna held a Master's Degree in Computer Mathematics and was a faithful member of River Bend Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children, Ruby Scheer (James) of New Bern, Sally Kerr (Rex) of Arkansas, Irene McClung of Arkansas, and Eddie McClung (Lori) of Illinois; daughter-in-law, Rhonda McClung of Iowa; thirteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

Sadly, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil McClung; daughter, Linda Mitchell; and son, Cecil "Buck" McClung.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial service at 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at Cotten Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Simpson officiating. She will be laid to rest with her husband in New Mexico at a later date.
