Dorothy Watson

Funeral service will be held Friday, November 12, 2021 at First Baptist Church of New Bern at 2:00 PM. Burial will immediately follow in Greenleaf Memorial Park.

Dorothy was born in Kinston, NC before taking up residence in New Bern, NC for most of her life. She was a member of First Baptist Church of New Bern and attended the North Carolina School for the Deaf in Morganton, NC. Her hobbies included arts, crafts, and sewing.

Mrs. Watson was preceded in death by her parents, Coy and Nettie Howard of Kinston, her son, Jeffrey Howard of Kinston, and her husband, Marshall Andrew Watson Jr. of New Bern. She is survived by three children; Jerry Watson, Cindy Smith and husband Bill, and Carol Terry and husband Ken, grandchildren; Brandon Bersch and wife Jenny, Dakota Bersch with Jaci Besso, Kaylee Smith, Harmony Simpson and Husband Parker, and six great-grandchildren; Isabella Bersch, Amelia Bersch, Carson Bersch, Leilani Simpson, Lincoln Simpson and Theodore Simpson.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 11, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Cotten Funeral Home. Flowers are appreciated and will be accepted at Cotten Funeral Home. Cotten Funeral Home is honored to serve the family and friends of Dorothy Watson.
