Dorothy Parker Banks

Dorothy Parker Banks, 91, of New Bern, passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2022. Dorothy was born on November 9, 1930 in Edgecombe, North Carolina to Terrance Leroy Heath and Cindy Ruth Mendenhall Heath.

Dorothy worked for Carolina Telephone & Telegraph for 40 years and was proud of her perfect attendance in those 40 years. She was a committed member of her church, Broad Street Christian Church, where she served as a Deacon and an Elder.

She is survived by three children: Michael Allan Harrell (Susan), DeLesa Parker Conway (Terry) and Reginald Todd Parker (Lisa); 8 grandchildren: Jennifer Channing Rogers, Morgan Harrell Hancock, David Nicklaus Conway (Karen), Parker Lee Conway, Christian Tanner Conway, Ashley Burnette Mares (Mike), Erin Burnette Blalock (Kevin), Sarah Burnette (Alex); great-grandchildren: Noah Aycock, Kaitlynn Grace Rogers, William Grant Conway.

She is preceded in death by her husband: Joseph Latham Banks and grandson Alex Burnett.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 11, 2022 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Cotten Funeral Home in New Bern, NC. Funeral service will be held in the Chapel beginning at 2:00 pm. Online condolences can be made at Cotten Funeral Home website.
