Donna Jo Moore Ellis

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ceby Moore and Blanche Fields Moore, her husband of 40 years, JB Ellis, and a granddaughter, Amanda Leigh Ellis. her brothers and sisters, Bobby Gene Moore, Sr., Robert "Bud" Moore, C.B. Moore, James Moore, Clara Thomas, Mildred Boyer, Dorothy Madison, Sandra Meadows and Janice Massengill.

Donna leaves behind one brother, Bill Moore (Joyce) of Grantsboro, sister in law, Joanne Moore, and 4 children, Charlene (Brandon) Huber of Dallas, GA, Chris (Cheryl) Ellis of Appomattox, VA , Michael (Heather) Ellis, of New Bern and David (Molly) Ellis of Duvall, WA. She loved her grandchildren: Curtis, Kristen, and Autumn Huber, Matthew and Joshua Ellis, Hailie and Abbie Bender and Colton Ellis, Cora and Lucy Ellis. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews, extended family, and close friends.

Donna was born in New Bern, NC in 1954. She married JB Ellis in 1973 and lived in numerous places, including Nashville, TN, Jacksonville, NC, and finally settled in 1994 at her residence in Bridgeton, NC. She went to work at the USPS and stayed there until she retired in 2015.

She was a member of New Life Church. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother who loved the Lord and her family.

A Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2022 from 10:00-11:00 AM at Cotten Funeral Home. A Celebration of Donna's Life will begin at 11:00 AM. Following the service, Donna will be laid to rest beside her husband, JB Ellis, at Greenleaf Memorial Park.
