Deborah Yvonne Jackson

Deborah Yvonne Jackson, 63 of New Bern passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 14, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in December, 1956 in Charleston West Virginia to Imogene Johnson. She married her long-time friend and love, Leslie Jackson, in August of 1972.

Deborah was a dedicated wife and mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as “Momma” to her grandchildren. She served as a beacon of love and joy for everyone that she encountered.

Her life was a great example of the Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 “and be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.

Deborah is survived by her husband Leslie Jackson; three children, Chastity Lynn-na Ayodele, Leslie Alphonso Jackson, Mairea Patrice Williams; and her six grandchildren, Zion David Jackson, Ian Devon Jackson, Michael Alonzo Williams, Ava Lynn Jackson, David Ayomide Ayodele, King Vincent Sawyer, Messiah Malik Sawyer. Her love has an astound effect on the future of the Jackson family.
