David Lawrence Toler, Jr., 74, of the Caton community, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 7th, 2021. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for 34 years and was a faithful member of New Haven Free Will Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and treasurer.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Faye Howard Toler; children, Davey Toler and wife Stephanie, and Wanda Toler Dunn and husband Brian; brothers, Gary Toler (Susan Selover) and Jeff Toler and wife Pam; sister-in-laws, Jennifer Toler, Susie Toler and Joyce Whisenhunt; grandchildren, Sydney Toler, Evan Toler, and Carter Dunn; and honorary grandson, Payten Blevins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David Lawrence Toler, Sr. and Bernice Stilley Toler; brothers, Eddie Toler and Danny Toler.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 10th at New Haven F.W.B. Church with Pastors Paul Jackson and Jonathan Ipock officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the church. He will be laid to rest with military honors at New Bern Memorial Cemetery.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to Joy, Martina, Jennifer, Nancy and all of the staff of Craven County Hospice as well as the members of New Haven Church for the loving care they provided to David during his last days.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in David's name to New Haven F.W.B. Church, 1870 Aurora Road, Ernul, NC 28527.
