Daniel Howell McCauley

Daniel Howell McCauley, 67, of New Bern, North Carolina, passed away quietly on Thursday, March 30, 2023. He had endured two hard years of cancer treatments that had greatly diminished his health and overtook him in the end. Daniel was born December 31, 1955, in Winterset, Iowa, to Dick and Patricia McCauley. He had three sisters, Andria, Susan and Pamela. He grew up in Guam, Hawaii and California and eventually moved to North Carolina with his wife and children, Jennifer, Drayton and Breezy. Daniel was a big guy with a big personality. He was talented at many things, and loved cooking wonderful tasty meals for his family and friends. He was generous with everything and loved to crack jokes all the time to make people laugh. He was a free spirit and always the life of the party. He was a wonderful, fun father to Drayton and Breeze and gave them a great childhood to remember. He will be missed everyday and will live on in the hearts and minds of all who loved him.

Service for him will be held privately by his family at a later date.
