Charlie "Chip" Willis May Jr.

Charlie "Chip" Willis May Jr., age 64 went to be with his Heavenly Father January 31, 2024.

Chip was born and raised in Craven County, attended Jasper School, West Craven High School, and graduated from East Carolina University in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. He held several manufacturing-related jobs throughout his career. Upon leaving manufacturing, he opened a small cabinet business and enjoyed working with people on small projects. He loved meeting new people and making new friends. For many years, he volunteered his services in the Security and Parking Ministries of Tabernacle Baptist Church.

Sadly he is predeceased by his father, Charlie Willis May, Sr.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Bonnie Jo May; daughter, Katherine McKenzie May (Mickey); mother, Katherine May; sister, Charlene Gennantonio (David); mother-in-law, Linda Ford; sisters-in-law, Lindy Marshall (Mike) and Susan Shaw (Jay), nieces and nephews: Lee Marshall (Brittany), Will Marshall (Marilee), Courtney Taylor (Wesley) and Laura Peters (Joe) and great nieces and nephews.

Flowers will be accepted or the family suggest to help someone in need in his memory.

A visitation for Chip will be held Sunday, February 4, 2024 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Cotten Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. There will be a private graveside service.
