Brian Matthew Campbell

Brian Matthew Campbell, 41, born in Pittsburgh, PA and made his home in New Bern, NC, passed unexpectedly on January 2, 2024. He was a 2000 graduate of Havelock High School and subsequently received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from East Carolina University. Teaching others was his calling. He was a teacher in NC public schools teaching music and science around the state. He was currently teaching science at SW Snowden Middle School in Aurora. He enjoyed spending time with loved ones, playing and recording music, gaming with friends and family, and learning new things. He had a very sharp mind and his sense of humor and wit was second to none. He had a wealth of knowledge and trivia he enjoyed sharing amongst loved ones. Brian is survived by his parents, Scott and Cheryl Campbell of New Bern; Sisters Erin (Chris) Lind of Dunwoody, GA; Jordan (Sam) Beyers, of Chatfield, MN; his brother-from-another-mother, Arthur Tesh, of Gastonia, NC and numerous nieces and nephews who lovingly referred to Brian as “Funcle Brian.” The family will celebrate his life in a private ceremony. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either St Jude’s Children’s Hospital or NC Science Olympiad.
