Barbara Satterthwaite Willis, 96, of New Bern, passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2023. She worked in civil service for 32 years, first in Washington, D.C. and later at Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville and Cherry Point in Havelock. Following her retirement, Barbara also worked as a receptionist with Catholic Social Ministries.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Willis; her son, David Novak; her grandson, David Novak, Jr.; her brother, William Brian Satterthwaite, Jr.; and her sister, Elsie Michael.
She is survived by her daughter, Christine Ann Novak; sister, Roberta Jones; granddaughter, Katherine Serna; and great granddaughters, Sophia Serna and Isabelle Serna; great great granddaughter, Paisley Christine; as well as the children of her grandson, David Novak, Jr.
Barbara will be laid to rest in the churchyard of Christ Episcopal Church.
Arrangements are in the care of Cotten Funeral Home & Crematory.
