Ashley Carson Koonce, Jr., age 64, of Cove City, North Carolina passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2023. A gifted artist, Ashley began drawing at the age of two years old and never stopped using his talents to draw, carve and create beautiful artwork and keepsakes that have become treasured by those in his circle of friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Devi Wayne Koonce and his beloved dog, "Hercules."
Ashley is survived by his parents, Carson and Pauline Koonce of Cove City; nephew, Wayne Koonce; nieces, Hannah Cooke and Toni Gail Leggett; and seven great nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 21, 2023 at Core Creek Original F.W.B. Church. The family will receive friends just prior to the service from 10 a.m. until service time at the church. Ashley will be laid to rest in the Koonce Family Cemetery on Koonce Road.
