Andrew proudly served the United States by joining the Marine Corps in 2018. Andrew was part of the Combat Logistics Battalion 2 (CLB-2) in the 3rd Platoon. Andrew has many different licenses to operate tactical wheeled vehicles to help transport Marines and/or supplies to combat operations. He later worked at the Weapons Battalion Training as the NCOIC of the Tractor & Maintenance Section, performed preventative maintenance & first echelon maintenance on the unit’s heavy equipment & vehicles, acted as the HAZMAT representative, was responsible for the upkeep of 57 acres of lawn & construction of wood frame targets in support of II MEF Annual Rifle Qualifications and mentoring & supervising 6 Marines that worked with & under him.
Andrew received many medals during his time in the military such as the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Certificate of Commendation and Letters of Appreciation.
Andrew enjoyed watching anything related to Star Wars, Anime and always wore jeans with cowboy boots. Let’s not forget his favorite candy - Reeses. His personality outshined everyone else’s - wanted to make you laugh and smile. Family has always been important to Andrew. He was compassionate, loving and would always help anyone who needed a hand.
Leaving behind to cherish his memories and honor his legacy are his wife of 3 years, Nicole Duprey; parents, Jay and Pam Sorrell, Rick & Tina Duprey; in laws, Marc & Patricia Favreau; siblings, Samantha Henthorn (Alex), Bryan Duprey (Sam) Naomi Yang (Bobby), Abigail Sweeny, Erica Wasson (Andy) Nicholas Duprey, Melissa Duprey, Aaron Sorrell (Ashley), Hannah Duprey, Rachel Fear (Evan) and Kyra Duprey; brother-in-law, Sean Favreau (Brittany Dawson) and sister-in-law, Stephanie Doughty (Matt); nieces and nephews, Logan, Braelyn & Gavin Henthorn, Bentley Duprey, Liam, Jordyn & Everett Duprey, Helena Wasson, Ambellina & Champion Chandler, Sophia & Levi Sorrell, Mathias Fear, Hayden, Sadie and Zoey Bravo, Macson Favreau, Austin & Hunter Doughty; grandmother, Dorothy Shutes; and many loving family members and close friends.
Andrew is preceded in death by his daughter, Clarke Elizabeth Duprey; his grandfather, Charles Shutes; and his cousins, Timmy Shutes & Jennifer Kinney.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Cotten Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held in the chapel at 12:00 pm. Following the service, there will be a procession to the Lakeside Chapel at Greenleaf Memorial Park where Andrew will be laid to rest with full military honors.
