Clancy was born in Pleasant Gap, PA Oct 17, 1938 to the late Floyd and Margaret Witmer St. Clair. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rosemary of New Bern, NC; son Jeff (Sheila) , Howard PA; son Mark (Lisa), McKeesport PA; son Jon (Tammy), Pleasant Gap PA; daughter Melissa (Clyde Long), Spring Mills
PA; and daughter Amy (Dave Eckels), Finleyville PA. He was preceded in death by sons David and Darwin and grandson Ryan. He is also survived by many grandchildren , great grandchildren, nieces & nephews. Clancy is also survived by sister Janet Meckley of Rebersburg PA, brother Jerry (Sally) of Bellefonte PA, and brother Gerald (Florence) of Kent WA.
Clancy served in the Air National Guard and was a member of the Broad Street Christian Church. He had many careers over his life time, including being a Wholesale Pearce Milk distributer, owning an Exxon Station, and a Department Head at Ridge Homes in Franklin IN and Milesburg PA. He then found his ideal job as an over the road truck driver for several companies including Ridge Homes, Butler Trucking and Deep Water Transport. After retiring in New Bern NC he enjoyed working for Northwest Creek Marina and also driving for the New Bern Trolley Tours and the Tryon Palace. Prior to retirement Alfred spent many years enjoying bowling not only on local teams, but also in State and National Bowling Tournaments.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday March 4, 2023 at 1:30 PM at Broad Street Christian Church, 802 Broad St. in New Bern NC. Cake & Coffee with Visitation to follow in the Fellowship Hall. There will be an additional Memorial Service held in Pennsylvania at a later date for the benefit of Pennsylvania family and friends. .
