Alexander M. Holton, Sr. 91 of Trent Woods joined his loved ones in Heaven on December 29, 2021. He is deeply grieved by his wife Celila of 70 years, son Alexander M. Holton Jr, (Geri) and brother Alonza W. “Buzzy” Holton, (Joanne). He is also survived by Glen E. Green, brother-in-law, of West Carrollton, OH, brother-in-law Joel W. Green, (Odetta), Crossville, TN, and sister-in-law Lola G. Sells, (Reed), Pikeville, TN, and many nephews and nieces.
He is preceded in death by his parents Alonza W. Holton, Sr. and Ruth M Holton; his sister, June Owens Keel, brothers James Wallace Holton, and Roy Holton.
In his 91 years, he steadfastly served his country, church, family and community. A Veteran of the Korean War, he spent a year in Germany. He retired from Maola Milk & Ice Cream Company, after 40 years of service as Branch Manager in Greenville, Morehead City, and New Bern branches. He was a member of Broad Street Christian Church and served as an Elder, a Sunday School Teacher and Chorister. Also he and his wife, were volunteers in Assisted Living and Nursing Homes in New Bern.
There was nothing he couldn’t do. He built his own house, was an artistic wood carver, could take cars apart and put them together again. He was strong in his faith and believed anything is possible through Jesus Christ. He is deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Broad Street Christian Church or charity of your choice.
A private burial service will be held with a celebration of his life at a later date.
