Theresa Annette Gaudette

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Isidore and Eva (Gagnon) Castonguay, she was a lifelong resident of the city.

Mrs. Gaudette was a former member of the New Bedford Lioness Club, Our Lady of Fatima Choir and Ladies Guild and an avid bowler.

Her work ethic was legendary, and she never shrank from a challenge. Whether single-handedly re-arranging a roomful of furniture, cleaning a clogged drain or sewing an elaborate gown, she kept to the task until it was completed to her satisfaction.

She was a fan of old-time Country & Western music, spending many weekday evenings in the kitchen listening to Cuzzin’ Dave’s Chuckwagon Show on local radio. Her yodeling skills were amazing.

Theresa loved nothing more than puttering in her backyard shed, where she found peace amid the demands of running a busy household.

She exemplified courage, common sense, and compassion every day of her life.

She is survived by her four children, Janice Corvi and her husband Michael, of Greenfield, MA; Donald R. Gaudette Jr. and his wife Teresa, of New Bedford; Rachel G. Thomas and her husband Michael, of Fairhaven, and Robert Gaudette of New Bedford; six grandchildren, Robin Quevedo; Erin Sullivan and her husband, Albert; Justine Vandal and her husband, Benjamin; Benjamin Thomas and his wife, Maureen; Danielle Rodriques and her husband, Justin; Gabrielle Grady; nine great-grandchildren, Morgan and Mikenna Sullivan, Cody Thomas, Jayden and Julian Grady, Aurora and Kylian Vandal, Jonah and Nora Rodriques; two brothers, Roland and Donald Castonguay, and many nieces and nephews.

Theresa was also the sister of the late Raymond, Gerard, Isidore, and Roger Castonguay and Irene Younger.

Her Visitation will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023 from 3-6PM in the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 10AM in the funeral home. Her burial will be private.
