Theresa Louise Cloutier

Theresa L. (Gonsalves) Cloutier, 90 of New Bedford, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2024 in her residence. She was the mother of Ronald “Rocky” Cloutier of New Bedford and her late daughter Rachel Portelance.

Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Simon and Mary (Costa) Gonsalves. Theresa was a graduate of New Bedford High School and Fisher College and was a employed as a Paraprofessional for the City of New Bedford School Department as Paraprofessional for 37 years. She also had worked for MASS Migrant as a community Aid and a bus monitor for the school department.

She was known as Mrs. C. to her peers and students. Theresa enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed swimming and sitting by the pool. Theresa enjoyed walking with her friends at the Dartmouth Mall and walking and talking with people at Lowes of Dartmouth.Theresa enjoyed shopping, baking sweets for friends, family, and driving her Lincoln Town car.

In addition to her son Ron, she is survived by her Grandson’s Evan and Aaron Portelance of Dartmouth; a son in-law, Daniel Portelance of Dartmouth and her nieces and nephew, Jane Gonsalves of New Bedford, Ann Cathcart of Taunton and David Gonsalves of New Bedford.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at 9:00AM in the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, MA 02745. Relatives and friends are invited.
