Susan Cheryl Loranger

Born in New Bedford, MA, she was the daughter of the late John and Mildred (Whitehead) Grimes. Susan was a graduate of St. Luke’s School of Nursing Class of 1971. After graduation, she worked at a variety of hospitals throughout Boston and New York as a nurse. Susan later retired in 2006 from the Dartmouth Public School System.

Survivors include three daughters; Stephanie Loranger and her husband Robert Milt of Milton, MA, Beth Gioiosa and her husband Jaryd, of Dartmouth, MA and Katherine Gallagher and her husband Richard, of Charlottesville, VA. Susan was a dedicated wife and mother and a loving and beloved Mèmè to her eight grandchildren: Liliana, Maxine, Domenic, Thomas, Theodore, Lucienne, William and Rowan. She was an avid gardener and lived for her children and grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Bruce Grimes of FL and Timothy Grimes of NJ and sisters Cheryl Cabral of New Bedford, and Tracey Torres of Fairhaven and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass will be held at Saint Anthony of Padua Church, 1359 Acushnet Ave, New Bedford, MA 02746 on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 11AM.
