Wife. Mother. Daughter. Sister. Niece. Aunt. Grammy.
Susan Darling was all of these things, but more importantly, she was all of them with unconditional love and a big smile to the most important thing in her life: Family.
Big Sunday dinners. Christmas mornings. Family vacations. Thanksgiving dinners. Cookouts and clam boils. There is nothing Mrs. Darling loved more than being surrounded by her family, who loved being around her just as much.
She smiled like never before when her children got married. She held her granddaughter in her arms when she was only hours old. She loved her 20 years working at St. Mary's School, where she was a smiling face to hundreds of children and her friends on the staff.
Mrs. Darling had plenty to smile about, and her family has plenty to smile about as they remember her.
Mrs. Darling passed away unexpectedly on March 9 at St. Luke's Hospital. She was the loving wife of almost 40 years to Thomas Darling.
She is survived by her mother, Theresa Hallett; two children, Jonathan Darling and Kate Darling and their spouses Michelle Darling and Jacob Vorce; two brothers, Steven Soucy and his fiancee Monica Stiegler, and Robert Soucy; one grandchild, Abigail Darling; her lifelong friend, Steven Perry and his wife, Barbara Miller Perry; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends near and far.
She was predeceased by her father, George Soucy.
