Roland A. Gauthier

Born in New Bedford, a son of the late Lorenzo and Alice (Dauphinais) Gauthier he was a lifelong resident of the city.

Mr. Gauthier graduated from New Bedford Vocational High School. He worked for Delken Coastal Fisheries and previously Acushnet Company. He was the recipient of Honorable Mention for a poster on accidental poisoning from the Greater New Bedford Druggist Assocation. Mr. Gauthier also served in the United States Navy.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a step son, Ernest E. Ellis, Jr. of New Bedford; a brother, Raymond Gauthier and his wife Patricia; a step grandson, Justin E. Ellis and many nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Juliette Soucy and Godfather to the late Ronald Soucy.

The family would like to thank Community Nursing and Hospice Care, Dr. Bier and Dr. Niedzwicki.

His graveside service will be Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 10 a.m. in St. John’s Cemetery, Allen St., New Bedford. Arrangements are under the direction of Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. www.rock-funeralhome.com.
