Robert Andrade

Born in New Bedford, a son of the late Manuel M. and Laura (Vieira) Andrade he was a lifelong resident.

Mr. Andrade graduated from New Bedford High School and later served in the Army National Guard. He worked as a quality control engineer for Aerovox and Cornell Dubilier, and earned his degree from Johnson and Wales in business.

In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, singing, dancing, and going to McDonald’s on Fridays for coffee with friends. He also enjoyed working part time at Pope Park. Bob always liked spending time with family, friends, and his neighbors. Bob, enjoyed his special time spent with his grandson, Anthony.

In addition to his grandson, he is survived by a son, Jeffrey Andrade and his wife Catherine of Odenton, MD; a step son, Myron Hastings and his wife Ellen of Hollis, NH; and grandchildren, Jessica Johnston, Rachel Botelho, Holly Brown, and Heidi Wise. He was the step father of the late Ginger Tetreault.

His funeral service will be Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 9 a.m. in the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant St. New Bedford.
