Rita Y. Guilbeault

Rita Y. (Girouard) Guilbeault, age 96 of New Bedford, passed away Wednesday morning, May 10, 2023, at St. Luke’s Hospital.

She was born in New Bedford on April 3, 1927, and was a lifelong resident. She was employed as a presser for US Ring Binder for many years. Rita was the daughter of the late Pierre and Anna (Melanson) Girouard; the sister of the late Lionel Girouard, Jerry Girouard, and Conrad Girouard; the wife of the late Joseph E. Guilbeault; and the mother of the late Elaine D. Gordon.

She is survived by her brother Joseph Girouard; her children, Ronald Guilbeault of Acushnet, Janet Mello of New Bedford, Glen Guilbeault and his wife Toni of New Bedford; 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Rita was beloved by many and will be deeply missed.
