Born in New Bedford, a son of the late Romeo and Blanche (Poisson) Picard he was a lifelong city resident.
Mr. Picard was an 8th Grade English Teacher at Normandin Junior High School for 38 years. He also taught night courses for those studying to obtain a GED. Ray loved spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed hunting with his friends.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Nicole Davin of Foxborough; a son, Raymond S. Picard and his wife, Susan, of Marshfield; five grandchildren, Sean, Aidan, Julia, Kenny, and Lauren; a sister, Claire Woodward and her husband Charlie of Rochester; and several nephews.
His services are private and under the direction of ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.
