Born in New Bedford, a son of the late Ernest and Rose (Caron) Wilde, Pete was a lifelong New Bedford resident. He was a graduate of New Bedford High School and a graduate of Kansas State University. Pete was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He was the co-owner with his wife Donna of Simply Sierra Jewelry.
Pete loved his family and extended family. He enjoyed traveling with Donna, he was an avid Country music fan and enjoyed long car rides with Donna. He was a passionate and loyal fan of American Legion Baseball. He was extremely passionate about his work with Donna at Simply Sierra jewelry Store.
Pete and Donna both were strong advocates of Veterans and Homeless Veterans affairs. He was an Ambassador and active member of the One Southcoast; a member of the Post 1 American Legion, the Moose Club of New Bedford and the VABC.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Jeremiah and Matthew Wilde of Iowa, Christopher and, Nathanial Wilde and Melissa Guzman all of New Bedford; his siblings, Mike Wilde and Terri-Lynne Wilde of New Bedford; several grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and many, many extended family. He was the brother of the late Dave Wilde.
Pete’s visitation will be held on Thursday, April 15, 2021 from 4:00 to 7:00PM in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, MA 02745. Relatives and friends are invited.
