Paulo Rui Medeiros, age 46, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Rhode Island Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Maria Rosa (Carvalho) Medeiros with whom he shared 29 years of marriage.
Born in St Michael, Azores, he was the son of the late Duarte and Irene (Teixeira) Medeiros. Paulo worked as a landscaper for Capizzi in Acton, MA. An avid Benfica and Patriots fan, he loved listening to sports, planting, gardening and spending time with his grandsons.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Paulo Medeiros and his wife Crystal Pacheco of New Bedford; a daughter Dana Medeiros and her significant other Brie McQuillan of New Bedford; two grandsons, Bentley Medeiros and Bryce Franco; five siblings, Francisco, Duarte, Afonso, and Filomena Medeiros and Suzanna Carreiro; several nieces and nephews, and his baby girl Daisy. He was the brother of the late Mario Medeiros.
His Funeral Service will be held, Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 8AM from the ROCK Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9AM at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, 136 Earle Street, New Bedford. His visitation will be held Tuesday from 4-8PM. Burial will be private.
