Born in New Bedford, a son of the late Laurent and Elmina (Hebert) Dupont, he lived Hinsdale, New Hampshire for many years before moving to Swansea two months ago.
A Veteran of the United States Army, he served during the Korean War. He was an award winning dog trainer and worked at Hinsdale Raceway in New Hampshire for many years before retiring.
He is survived by eight children: Doreen Bettencourt, Deborah Woodside, Diane Howley, Dawn Anderson, Norman, Daniel, Doug, and Stephen Dupont; his former wife Sarah (Gaylord) Gillis; six sisters: Marguerite Brasseur, Rita Young, Annette Pelletier, Rhea St. Onge, Dolores Brissette and Irene Seguin; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Roger “Skip” Dupont.
His Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 31, 2015 at 11AM in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.
