Born in New Bedford, a son of the late August and Blanche Cormier, he was a lifelong resident of the city and a graduate of New Bedford High School.
Mr. Cormier was a United States Army Air Force Veteran having served as a sergeant during World War II.
He was employed as an aircraft technical engineer for United Technologies, retiring in 1987.
Norm enjoyed reading, watching cowboy movies, baseball and spending time with his loving family.
His family includes four children, Carol Botelho and Claudette Issa of New Bedford, Norm Cormier, Jr. of Dearborn Heights, MI and Cheryl Smith of Norfolk, VA; a sister, Theresa Andrews of Maine; ten grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Florence Wilson and Emile Cormier.
His Funeral will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 11 am in St. Joseph’s Church, 74 Spring St., Fairhaven. Burial will be Friday, April 1, 2016 at 10 am in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
