Nathalie D. Newsham

Nathalie Dorothy (Farley) Newsham, 91, of North Carolina and formerly of New Bedford, passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2014. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Yvonne (Gauthier) Farley and wife of the late Robert James Newsham.

Born and raised in New Bedford, Mrs. Newsham was a graduate of the Greater New Bedford Vocational High School and continued to live In New Bedford most of her life until last August, when she moved to North Carolina to be with her daughter.

Mrs. Newsham was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a loving mother and a doting grandmother.

Survivors include her four children: Robert Newsham, Jr. and his wife Caron of PA, Thomas Newsham of New Bedford, Nathalie “Lee” Therien and her husband Donald of NC and Mark Newsham and his wife Joanne of FL. She is also survived by her five grandchildren Kathleen Yerkes of Brewster, Christine Newsham of Boston, John Therien of NC, Roberta Newsham of WA and Jason Callas of NY as well as five great grandchildren Bevan and Noel Therien of NC and Noah, Miles and Henry Yerkes of Brewster.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at 8:30 AM from the ROCK Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, followed by her funeral mass at 9:30 AM in St. Mary’s Church, Tarkiln Hill Rd., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting hours, Monday 4-6 PM.
