Monte Peter Dawson

Monte Peter Dawson, 44, of New Bedford, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was a graduate of Apponequet Regional High School. He worked in the security field prior to sustaining debilitating injuries in a 2014 accident in which he was struck by a drunk driver.

He is survived by his parents Monte Patrick and Vicki Dawson, daughters Amber and Bonnie Dawson and his grandson Erik Demetri Dawson-Keane, all of Freetown. He is also survived by his ex-wife and mother of his children Heather Gilchrest-Dawson of Fall River. He was fortunate to have many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

His greatest joy was spending time with his daughters and grandson. He was a motorcycle aficionado, who enjoyed the outdoors and time with friends. Among other things, he will be remembered for his quick wit and irreverent sense of humor. He will be missed by friends and family.

His Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at 10am in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. Burial will be private.
