Mary J. Gusch

Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Angus and Ida (Melanson) Cormier she was a lifelong area resident and a communicant of the former Our Lady of Fatima Church.

Mary attended Holy Rosary School and later worked as a stitcher at States Nightwear for 38 years.

She is survived by a daughter, Karen Giard and her husband Ronald of New Bedford; a son, Steven Gusch of New Bedford; two grandchildren, Matthew Giard of Westport and Holly Giard and her fiancé Christopher Gaye of McCall, ID; a sister, Pauline Charbonneau of New Bedford; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Ida St. Charles, Ernest Cormier, Marcel Cormier, and Angus Cormier, Jr.

The family would like to thank the staff at the St. Michael’s Unit at Sacred Heart Nursing Home for their love and compassion and the Southcoast Hospice.
