Martin F. Pacheco

Born in Achadinha, Nordeste, Sao Miguel, Azores, a son of the late Jose Furtado Matias and Mariana (Pacheco) Medeiros, he had resided in New Bedford for the past 55 years.

Mr. Pacheco was a talented union carpenter and enjoyed the company of his loving family.

His family includes his daughter, Lucia Rei and husband Jose of North Providence; his late son, Victor T. Pacheco; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Pacheco of New Bedford; three sisters, Marta Oliveira of Acushnet, Maria Amelia Amaral and Salome Aguiar; a brother, Jose Pacheco all of New Bedford; a late sister, Maria Ascencao Sousa; three grandchildren, Thomas and Jessica Rei and Shannon Pacheco; two great-grandchildren, Abigail Ventura and Gianna Lisi; and many nieces and nephews.

His Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 1, 2015 at 10am in Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, 136 Earle St., New Bedford followed by burial in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours Sunday 2-6pm in the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.
