Mark A. Amaral

Born in New Bedford, a son of Cristovao Amaral of New Bedford and Nair Montoya of Wareham, he was a life-long resident of the area.

Mark graduated from New Bedford High School in 1992 and enjoyed playing baseball. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his niece and nephew.

Besides his parents he is survived by two brothers, Terry Amaral of Acushnet and Christopher Amaral and his wife Jocelyn also of Acushnet; a niece, Mila Amaral; a nephew, Logan Amaral; Joseph Resendes, spouse of Nair Montoya; maternal grandmother, Amelia Montoya of Brazil; uncles and aunts, Alfredo Amaral and his wife Marizilda, Maria Amaral, Joseph Amaral and his wife Theresa, John Amaral, Fatima deAmaral-Rodrigues and her husband Tony, Francisco de Amaral and his wife Linda and Walter Amaral, as well as numerous other family members, cousins and friends.

He was also grandson of the late Ramon Montoya; grandson of the late Joao de Amaral and his wife Alcina; nephew of the late Nancy and Nadir Montoya and greatly missed his favorite late dog, Sandy.

Visitation, Friday 5-8 PM. His funeral will be held Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 8 AM from the ROCK Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd. New Bedford, followed by his funeral mass at 9 AM at Immaculate Conception 136 Earle St., New Bedford.
