Maria Raposo

Born in St. Michael, Azores, daughter of the late Antonio and Georgina (Cabral) Raposo, she immigrated to the United States in 1967 and has resided in New Bedford for over 50 years.

Mrs. Raposo had worked for Madwell and S & J Manufacturing for 25 years until her retirement.

Rosa was known as quite the Diva. She loved roses and spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her children, Joe Raposo and Audrey of Leland, NC, Lenora “Lee” Frias and her husband Joe of Fairhaven, Fernando Raposo and his wife Patricia of FL and Donald Raposo and his wife Tammy of E. Freetown; two brothers, the late Antonio Raposo and his wife Maria and Manuel “Manny” Raposo and his wife Germina of New Bedford; two sisters, Natalia Branquinho and her husband Raul and the late Maria Sousa of New Bedford; six grandchildren, Jeffrey, Paul, Brittany, Meghan, Erik and Dylan; and great grandchildren Noah Frias and Gavin Albano; and severalnieces and nephews.
