Maria Cordeiro

Born in St. Michael, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Maria (Camara) Barreira. Maria was employed as a Baker in Portugal for over 25 years and later worked as a Stitcher at Cliftex for 2 years until her retirement. She enjoyed crocheting and cooking for her family.

She is survived by a son Jose C. Cordeiro and his wife Leslie of New Bedford; a daughter Paula Silva of New Bedford; five grandchildren Breana, Ashlee, Nathan and Caitlyn Cordeiro and Andrea Silva; brothers and sisters Maria Vultao, Joao L. Barreira, Carlos Barreira, Maria Barreira and Jose Barreira and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four siblings.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 8 am from the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford followed by a funeral mass at 9 am in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 1359 Acushnet Ave., New Bedford.
