Lucy F. Duarte

Lucy F. (Pires) Duarte, age 57, of Fairhaven, passed away, Saturday, December 2, 2023 at St. Anne’s Hospital in Fall River, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Adalberto R. “Al” Duarte, to whom she had been married for 23 years.

Born in Sao Miguel, the daughter of the late Joao and Maria (Mota) Pires, she was a graduate of Greater New Bedford Vocational Technical High School. Lucy was employed with Legacy Insurance in Wareham for over 10 years. She enjoyed making her own decorations for the various holidays and décor of her own home.

In addition to her husband, Lucy is survived by her two children, Kaitlyn A. Duarte and Brayden A. Duarte; siblings Guilhernina, Gloria, John, Eduarda and Natalie and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Marie Pacheco.

Her Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2023 from 4pm to 6:30pm in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Service at 6:30pm in the funeral home.
