Linda Monteiro

Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Americo and Mary Brites she was a lifelong area resident.

Linda worked at Acushnet Company Rubber Division before retiring many years ago. She liked to keep herself busy by crocheting blankets, word searches, puzzles, and being outdoors in the sun. She also enjoyed long car rides and being with her friends and having fun. She will be deeply missed.

She is survived by two daughters, Nicole M. Lombard and her husband Stephen of Mattapoisett and Christine Monteiro of New Bedford; a brother, Richard Brites and his wife Dorinda of New Bedford; a sister-in-law, Nancy Brites of Fairhaven; grandchildren, Melinda Laureano, Izael Laureano, Alexander Laureano, and Nolan Lombard; a step-grandchild, Nicholas Dutra-Lombard; and several nieces and nephews, Gina Brites, Amanda Brites, David Brites Jr. and Timothy Brites.

She was the sister of the late David Brites.

Her Memorial Visitation will be Wednesday, August 25, 2021 5-8 p.m. in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford with a service at 5:30 p.m.. For online tribute/directions: www.rock-funeralhome.com.
