Lillian C. Soares

Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Nelson) Gonsalves. She was a life-long resident of the area.

Mrs. Soares was a volunteer at Alden Court for over 15 years and received the Volunteer of the Year Award in 2006.

She is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was the sister of the late Elsie Croker, Hilda Blecha,

Evelyn Robart and Albert Gonsalves.

Her funeral will be held Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 7:30 AM from the ROCK Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, followed by her funeral mass at 9 AM in St. Mary’s Church, Main St., Fairhaven. Burial will be private. Visitation, Thursday 7:30-8:30 AM prior to the mass. Memorial contributions in her honor may be made to, Alden Court Recreation Dept., 389 Alden Rd., Fairhaven, MA 02719.
