Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Burton F. Smith, Jr. and Angela (Smith) Smith of Marion she had lived in Mashpee for most of her life.
Ms. Dauphinais worked as a cashier at Stop & Shop in Marston Mills for many years. Joy will be remembered as a very giving and loving person. She was always taking care of someone whether it be giving someone a ride to an appointment, cooking meals for someone, or providing a home for someone who needed a place to stay.
Joy was always smiling and she loved her job at Stop & Shop. She loved people, the band Pearl Jam, and she called her mother and sisters every day. She most loved being with family and close friends. She was a definite cat person but loved all animals.
