Joseph Teixeira, age 96 of New Bedford, Massachusetts passed away unexpectedly at St. Luke’s Hospital on Monday, September 19, 2022.
He was born October 30, 1925 in New Bedford, Massachusetts to John Teixeira originally from Camacha, Madeira and Rosa (Fernandes) Teixeira originally from Canico, Madeira.
Joseph worked as a presser in the New Bedford garment industry until his retirement and was an avid bowler well into his 80’s.
He was pre-deceased by a week by his son Joseph. He was also predeceased by his wife Augusta (Gussie Carouto), his parents, three brothers, John Texeira, Antone and James Teixeira; his sister Mary Pedro as well as his longtime companion Priscilla Radford. He is survived by his sister Dolores Sardinha of Kissimmee, Florida and seven nieces and one nephew.
