Jose Souza

Born in New Bedford, he was the son of the late Antone R. and Mary A. (Souza) Souza.

Jose served in the Army in the Korean War and worked as a Machine Operator for Morse Twist Drill for over 25 years, Pepsi and Coca-Cola, Adams and Adams, and a Custodian at New Bedford High School. He was a proud Little-League Coach, winning Greater New Bedford’s Championship with Joe & Perkey’s and on to win the City Championship. Loving nature’s animals, Jose enjoyed feeding the birds and other wildlife in his yard and spending time with his beloved dogs, Lily, Joker and Beanie. He will be deeply missed.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by two sons, Curtis Souza of New Bedford, and Steven Souza and his wife Pamela of New Bedford; a daughter-in-law, Ann Souza of Sandwich; three grandchildren, Linsey, Brooke and Chelsea; a great-grandson, Micah; three nieces, Karen, Susan and Ann; two nephews, Arthur and Ronnie. He was the father of the late Kevin J. Souza and brother of the late Antone and John Souza.
