He was the beloved husband of Maria F. (Nunes) Silva with whom he shared 51 years of marriage.
Born in Portugal, a son of the late Barbara (Saraiva) de Jesus and Jose A. Da Silva he grew up in Brazil prior to coming to America.
Jack owned and operated Interstate Equipment rental and sales in New Bedford for over 40 years. In his spare time, he loved to spend time with his family. Whether traveling or just spending time together, nothing made him more happy than family. Jack also enjoyed to play games, boating, and spending time around the ocean.
In addition to his wife and father, he leaves a son, Marcio Silva and his wife Carla of Marion; two grandchildren, Marciano Silva and his wife Michelle of New Bedford and Cayla Silva and her fiancé Ethan Carreiro of Marion; and a great granddaughter, Mariella Silva. He was the father of the late Maurico Silva.
His services are private and under the direction of the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, MA 02745.
