Jose J. Pinheiro

Jose J. Pinheiro, age 89, of New Bedford, passed away Friday, April 12, 2019 in his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Alice S. (Carvalho)Pinheiro with whom he shared 63 loving years of marriage.

Born in Portugal, a son of the late Agostino Alfonso and Maria (do Rosario) Pinheiro. He was a maintenance worker in luxury apartments in Waltham. Jose enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and loved watching Portuguese soccer and gardening.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his children, Antonio Jose Pinheiro and his wife Rosa of North Dartmouth, Antonio Jack Pinheiro of New Bedford, Maria Lawrence and her husband Patrick of New Bedford; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Agostinho F. Pinheiro.

His visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 from 5:00-7:00pm in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. His Funeral will be held Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 9:30AM from the ROCK Funeral Home, followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM at Our Lady of The Immaculate Conception Church, 136 Earle St. New Bedford.
