John Monteiro, Jr., age 69 of Acushnet passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, December 1, 2020. He was the husband of Pamela S. (Verbal) Monteiro to whom he had been married for 48 years.
Born in Acushnet, the son of Beatrice (Gelinas) O’Neil of New Bedford and the late John Monteiro, he has been a lifelong area resident.
John was a Truck Driver and the Owner and Operator of PJ’s Services for over 30 years. He also enjoyed restoring classic cars and driving his machines in the yard and was a United States Army Veteran.
In addition to his wife and mother, John is survived by his son Jason Monteiro of New Bedford; two granddaughters Kaycee and Tyllah Monteiro; a sister Debbie Camara of New Bedford and Robert Monteiro of Lynn and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Visitation on Monday, December 21, 2020 from 4 to 7PM in the Rock Funeral home 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.
