Born in Terceira Azores, a son of the late Jeronimo and Maria (Silveira) Coelho he spent his early years there and came to America at the age of 11.
Joe worked in construction and landscaping. He loved to put puzzles together, fishing, camping, and music. Joe was a big sports fan. He was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Bruins, Red Sox, and Celtics. He had an amazing sense of humor and his family always called him the “Crazy Uncle” who was the life of the party.
He is survived by his siblings, Frank Coelho and his wife Elaine of Acushnet, Isidro “Manny” Coelho and his wife Fatima, Maria J. Borges and her husband Maximino of New Bedford, Ercilia “CC” Coelho of New Bedford, and Maria Coelho-Schlatter and her husband Rodney of Tiverton; many beloved nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
