Joan G. Parent, 84, of New Bedford, has gone to be with Our Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the wife of Herve R. J. Parent with whom she shared 54 years of marriage.
Born in Fairhaven, daughter of the late George and Mary (Acucena) Duff, she had resided in New Bedford for the past 55 years. She was a graduate of Fairhaven High School.
Mrs. Parent was a member of Cornerstone Community Church and involved in many church activities.
Surviving in addition to her husband is a son, Scott D. Parent and his fiancé Catherine Theodore of Acushnet; three grandchildren, Terrel, Brock and Gavin; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Donald Supernant.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, September 12, 2021 from 2-4 p.m. with a Celebration of Life at 3:30 p.m. in the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.
