Jeannette A. Sylvia

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Marie (Proulx) Gendron, she resided most of her life in New Bedford and also lived in Somerset and Fall River.

Mrs. Sylvia worked as a mail clerk at the former Arlan's Department Store and in the garment industry. She was a member of the St Francis Assisi Club, Our Lady of Fatima Seniors, Somerset Senior Chorus and the YWCA Day Care Program as a child care giver. She especially loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her son Donald E Sylvia, Jr. and his late wife Beverly of Lakeville MA; 2 Grandchildren, Stephen Sylvia and his wife Jody of Lakeville; Andrea Silva and her husband Dennis of Fall River; 4 Great Grandchildren, Devin and Cameron Sylvia and Gabriella and Ian Silva, 2 brothers, Raymond and Roland Gendron and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Lydia Goulet, Georgette Giroux, Grace Lebeau, Armand and Eleodore Gendron.

Her visiting hour will be held Friday, February 21, 2014 from 9:30 -10:30am at Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, 121 Mt. Pleasant Street, New Bedford. Burial to follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
