Jeanne Irene Paquette

Jeanne I. (Belanger) Paquette, age 90 of New Bedford, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2019 in St. Luke’s Hospital with her daughter and son in-law by her side. She is survived by her daughter Linda Amaral and her husband Joseph.

Born in Acushnet, a daughter of the late Emile and Elise Belanger, she was a lifelong area resident. She was a graduate of New Bedford High School and prior to her retirement she was employed by St. Luke’s Hospital in the Environmental Services Department.

Jeanne loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed Bingo, playing cards, scrabble and working on puzzles with her daughter and sister. Jeanne was known to have an exceptional memory.

In addition to her daughter and son in-law, she is survived by two grandchildren Cherie Wildrick and her husband Christopher and Thomas Soares and his wife Kimberly; six great-grandchildren, Ryan, Taylor, Sophia, Logan, Thomas III and Justin and her grand-dog Holly and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by nine siblings, Eugene, Antoinette, Yvonne, Grace, Anna, Rita, Claire, Norman and Adelard.

Her funeral service will be held on Monday, July 1, 2019 at 9:00AM in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in St. Joseph-St. Therese Parish, Acushnet Avenue, New Bedford.
