Janine (Tablas) Zosiak, age 72, of New Bedford, passed away surrounded by her loving family, on February 18, 2018 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Louise Tablas, she was a lifelong resident of the city.
After graduating from New Bedford High School, she attended Kinyon-Campbell Business School and worked as a bookkeeper for many years. She enjoyed shopping, going to the casino and coffee shop with her friends, sitting at Fort Phoenix Beach, watching the New England Patriot’s football games, and spending time with her family. She was a loving mother and devoted friend with amazing strength and resilience. Janine was most proud of her children and their accomplishments.
She is survived by three children, Tammy LaBerge-Levesque and her husband Craig of New Bedford, Lynne LaBerge-Nelson and her husband Curtis of Fall River, Jason LaBerge of New Bedford, and Virginia Hynes, who was like another daughter to her; three grandchildren, Sonja Mayo, Sorelle and Saige LaBerge-Hynes; three step-grandchildren, Sophia and Eamon Hynes and Garrett Nelson; two great-grandchildren, Harlie and Holden Froh; two brothers, Frank Tablas, Jr. and the late Leroy Tablas; many nieces and nephews, and several close friends.
Visitation will be held March 2, 2018 from 10am-11:30am at ROCK Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford, followed by a memorial service at 11:30am.
