Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Frank and Irene (Longtin) Silva, she was a proud lifelong resident of the city.
Ms. Rapoza was a graduate of New Bedford High School and received an Associate’s degree from Bristol Community College.
She had worked as a rehabilitation counselor for the Union House at the YWCA. She also worked at the Acushnet Company and Walmart.
Janet was a longtime volunteer at the Coalition for Social Justice for 20 years. She was an avid watcher of politics. Janet was an outgoing person who developed strong and special relationships with her friends. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her children, Lisa Midwood, Antone P. Rapoza, III, Janet Healy and Jason Rapoza; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and many close special friends.
She was the mother of the late Stacy Bolger and Susan Marshall, and sister of the late Gerald Silva.
