Gerard L. Gaudette

Born in New Bedford, a son of the late Odilon and Yvonne (Jalbert) Gaudette and brother of the late Violette T. Gaudette he was a lifelong area resident and a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church.

Gerry graduated from St. Anthony School, New Bedford Vocational High School, Campbell Business School with a diploma in advanced accounting, and Bryant College with a degree in Business Administration. He served in the Army during the Korean War, and received the National Defense Medal. He was a member of Post 1 American Legion.

Mr. Gaudette was a member of the Sharpshooters Club, the New Bedford Whaling City Golf Course, a board member of St. Anthony’s Credit Union and a member of the Casino Task Force. Gerry worked as an advertising service manager at the New Bedford Standard Times where he worked for 35 years.

He was happiest playing golf with his many friends at the Whaling City Golf Course and walking his dog, Skyy. He will be remembered most for his generosity, his quiet sense of humor and quick wit.

He is survived by his caregiver and special friend, Lorraine Charest of Rochester and many cousins.

His services are private and under the direction of the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gerry’s memory are encouraged to the charity of your choice.
